season 3 or no?kind of an odd time to bring this up, but i am personally against it. This season has ended up very boring. With 3 squads leaving and basically every other game being delayed, there really hasnt been much action. Now there is only 8 teams in the league (ac dropped) so there will only be 2 games per week for the next 5 rounds. only 2 squads wont make it to the playoffs. Besides, if there was no fl - there would be more time for 4v4. I think we should let the majority speak on this issue and decide, because it seems like many more would enjoy just a dueling league, or even tourneys. -val

Heh, kinda early to come up with this topic. Its not really succesfull till now, i agree. But let this league just finish. It's too early to say that this league is really not a succes. Also some people like to have a flagging league, maybe not the majority. But those people that like to flag has also the right on a league. I think maybe it should be possible to host tourney leagues though while swzfl is running.-Senti IP: Logged |

I wouldn't say it's early at all. It's already week 7 and the top squad is 4-0. On top of that, some squads have had up to a month off before they play their next game. Val is right about one thing, SWZFL so far has been boring, but I have to agree that the league must finish before deciding on whether or not to remove it entirely. I imagine there will be an SWZFL season 3, but if there is, at least find some way to weed out those squads who end up dropping or being kicked from league so that it ends when it's supposed to. I must end it by saying I don't think forcing a league like this on the zone is such a great idea, seeing how long it took just to set things up and pushed the more popular events back longer than most had hoped. That's just my opinion, take it how you will. Later.IP: Logged |

I agree. The fact that Incoming! has not been able to show 10 to every match shows that the players are bored.I am not sure how to make it more interesting. One thing about sWZFL I enjoy over SWZL is that a larger number of players get to participate. IP: Logged |

The only reason that ORION is still in SWZFL is because a small group of players like it. I agree with Jade, ORION doesnt have a match for 3 weeks. We got 1 match postponed (not because of us).I think if we ever try a next SWZFL season there must be a VERY active staff and atleast 10 squads (ACTIVE playing) IP: Logged |

Also the games seem slow and dull. Im not sure how to pick up the pace and make it so that once a team gets all the flags they are not basically guaraneeted a win.IP: Logged |

We tried that. The 1v1v1 games were supposed to fulfil that; however people bitched and complained about those, so we went back to 1v1.IP: Logged |

I just think any league that gets spread over the Xmas period is bound for trouble, it will pick up a tad, i hope IP: Logged |

In agreement with the holiday problems. Had it been swzl or anything else you would run into the same problems, kids go home from school, people travelling, no time to play. I thouroughly enjoy swzfl. The thrill of competition is great, and its a great way for you to play with alot of members from your squad, with no center killers taking up spots, and not on a priv night when no one will flag against you. It is a shame that some of the squads cant show 10 people. There is a full week to work out a scheduled time, that for some reason I sometimes see squads that dont even post anything until Weds or Thurs. How can you expect anyone to manage their time when the captains arent responsible on scheduling? I also do think things have even been a little disorganized on the swzfl staff. Even for one of our matches We had over 10 people there, the opposing team had over 10 people there, and not a single ref showed up!! Its a shame to see that flagging has taken a back seat to every other aspect of this zone and its many sub arenas. What about maybe putting a weekly news update in the main swz with times for the scheduled matches that way maybe people that dont know its going on, can come in and watch and get interested. And personally its not such a bad thing that we have fewer squads becuase I think its better to be able to play people twice as compared to one. I mean, that way you can always avenge a loss. Ah well. Rock on! IP: Logged |

Another issue is its easier to get 4 people over the holidays for SWZL while for SWZFL finding 10 can be a problem.IP: Logged |

swzfl if fun. It is hard sometimes for everone on a squad to show up at a certain time. People live in all different time zones and have certain things they need to do. Its just another thing do besides swz!IP: Logged |

SWZFL is meant to be a fun and friendly competition, not a professional league. People just take things too seriously in SS sometimes. If people wanted SWZL or SWZT to start, there's no reason why it couldn't run at the same time as SWZFL without much interference to either league. As it is, there's only 3 matches a week for flag league now. That really shouldn't cause many scheduling woes. Besides, you only need 4 people for SWZL or 2 for SWZT. The only foreseeable problem would be that you'd have to line up a ref before your match, as two leagues might spread the staff a little thin (some refs and smods help out in multiple leagues). Ask C'Baoth or Maddok (politely) and they might start working on getting their next seasons running. There's no reason we can't please everyone. Some people want to flag, others want to duel. That's just how it goes. =) IP: Logged |
