ok im expecting dsl around the end of this year to the begenning of next year. with dialup i got around 150ms ping in japan then 280 in swz. when i get my dsl what are my pings expecting to look like?

About half that depending on your dsl speed.

When I switched from 56k to cable, my pings in SWZ dropped from ~200 to ~60. My pings in DSB stayed the same.

So, as always, YMMV.

You'll still be a little high I think just from the hops. I clock into SSCU around 200ms from the US... but I think you'll have a little cleaner connection. Maybe something around 100 but it's all network related so nothing to do but cross your fingers and hope. You might get some ploss depending on your ISP, but hopefully not.
