Well non of my friends are really into technology stuff so I need some advise. I want to get a mp3 player. But I would like it to use flash cards since they are pretty cheap to get and removable. Anyone know what I should get? And no I don't want to spend 500 bucks on a iPod. Its tempting but I could lose or get it stolen at school. So something reasonable priced and reliable. Any ideas? Thanks. And yes I have done research on this already but its always good to have second opinions.-KKF IP: Logged |

Buy an mp3 cd player, its cheaper and holds A LOT more mp3's :P True its a bit bigger than an mp3 player, but on the other hand, its easier to carry 1 cd than 10 flash cards.IP: Logged |

Or you could buy Creative MP3 Player which can hold 6GB of files. More info on Creative pages i would presume. It's called DAP (Digital Audio Player) Jukebox or something.[This message has been edited by Eagle X (edited 10-01-2002).] IP: Logged |

The creative Mp3 players are a hard drive, and not a true mp3 player. If you want a good mp3 player with a flash card, I suggest a Rio. I myself have an Intel Pocket Concert, it has 128mb and I have had it for 3 years, dropped it a ton, and it still works great. But for what you want the Rio looks like you best bet.-ZukaJuice IP: Logged |

Undy, if thats the case, its probably b/c his cds are scratched. Mp3/cd players tend to be more sensitive to scratches from my experience. So all I did is make a cd to cd copy of the original, takes 15 mins, < 25 cents, and problem solved. If that doesnt do it, buy a better mp3/cd player. I have a G-shock mp3/cd player from Sony, and it sweet.IP: Logged |

Those mp3 cd players rock. You can fit 700 minutes of music onto 1 cd, and the player is the same price as a normal cd player. I got mine for $80 Canadian and it works like a charm.IP: Logged |

Couple of things to remember:1) Don't buy based on looks :P 2) Read reviews and comparisons of CURRENT MP3/CD players. Don't buy anything that's "first generation" even if the reviews are really good. -Craw IP: Logged |

Mp3 cd players are ok... I have been using an Mp3 player for 3 years now. I have dropped it 5-6 times about 3 feet of the ground. This is all while listing, and it doesn't skip. Can you mp3/cd player do that?-ZukaJuice IP: Logged |

Is what you ment undead http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1385643258 seems like those suckers will kill battery life fast. Might look cool but can't see one running longer than 4 hours. -KKF IP: Logged |

Thats cool, but its not quite portable :P An mp3/cd player is the size of a discman, not a vcr :PIP: Logged |

The mpc/cd player is a good choice. Sony does make a good one thats not too expensive, G-Shock is GREAT at non-skipping, and battery life is good. One thing to remember tho with mp3 is not to record too low of a quality cause it makes for less reliable sound as well. I've heard some mp3 that make slight skips when played off a good computer while nothing else is running...this could prob be why your cd skipped as well, undead. IP: Logged |
