Ok, my computer is screwed.It all started when my brother somehow got us infected with the CIH virus... I noticed we had it when I tried opening Continuum, and it basically told me "Continuum has been damaged by the CIH virus. Your computer is currently infected or was in the past. Please use anti-virus software or re-install Continuum." I havent reinstalled Cont since then, hence why I can still bring up that message. But I DID clean the CIH virus out. And everything else on my computer was working fine afterwards. But now, like a week later, everything seems to have gone fubar on me.
For ex:
- I cant connect whatsoever over my cable ISP anymore (this could just be a prob with my isp, it tends to do that).
-When i connect with dial up, I can get IE 5 to work, but it cant run some java applications. Hotmail for example wont let me login to my email, saying i have to enable java scripting (and it is enabled in my internet settings).
-My windows media player goes all grey when I open it, and I can hear sounds but see no picture. Or it gives me illegal operations.
-Other programs like winipcfg just don't run properly, ie i cant use their functions.
Anyway, this all happened today, and Im still discovering more problems... I've tried rebooting several times, and nothing is fixing this.
Now from what I know, the CIH virus affects programs, like it basically screws them up or whatever. Are my programs showing symptons of this? Would anyone know enough about the virus to tell me if thats my problem?? My scanner says Im clean... But could these other programs not be working, just like how my Continuum isnt working, and need re-installs? ugh :P
