Dang, this is getting old...I can only imagine what a six-month deployment must be like. The dang boat keeps rocking back and forth (for something this big, one would think it'd be a bit more stable...oh well.) 6 months at sea is a long time .... been there done that and got a t-shirt. Are you still "cherry boy" ????I chuckle about rock'n & roll'n in a carrier.. Try it in a frigate .... We referred to rock'n & roll'n as Walking on the walls because we did that at times.... DOC IP: Logged |

We went around the Horn a while back, rough seas down there...75kts wind across the flight deck at times (brrr!) I'll have some stories to tell y'all when we pull in, that's for sure. In any case, things are going a lot smoother now...even getting a bit more bandwidth lately, pages take three minutes to load vice twenty... (i.e., still slow, just more comparable to a 14.4k connection than a 1200 bps one  Not too much longer till we pull in, I can't wait to be able to set foot on dry land again! (being able to drive on top of that's a big plus  That's it for the moment...check back for the occasional rant or ramble, whichever I feel like at the moment. Au revoir! -Fern (p.s.: "cherry boy"?) Ahh, yes...that brings back old memories. Which reminds me, as of this past Sunday my inactive reserve time is up. So I don't think I'll be sailing the seas again, or at least not on a combat ship.
