Post em here.Things that are good about this map/things that are bad. What should change/what must stay? Looking back on last few weeks, have you seen good flaggames as well and do you agree this is because of a well balanced map? IP: Logged |

Lose the player's/sysop/mod/etc lounge. Though it is artistically pleasing, it serves no purpose in a flagging map. Add another base or a duelling box like we used to have - perhaps even an expanded high score/elim scoreboard. =)

Lose the excessive bomblines. One or two is fine, but having over half the bases on the map have bomblines is just fucking lame.------------------ - DeathComesRipping 6 time returning champion on Who Wants To Be An Asshole? IP: Logged |

The map is damn near perfect. Here are some comments...On bomb lines: I don't think they're excessive; they will force the offense to master a wider ranger of tactics than without, giving defensive teams (appropriately) advantages over offensive ones. Bomb lines add a new level of experience to base assault: I.E. I think they give a cool "d-day invasion" feel to the game. Lounge and Powerball: I agree, the lounges are pretty useless, though they aren't hurting anything. On the other hand, I don't think powerball is worth including at all. We should encourage players in the public arena to flag, not to powerball; the confusion over Reds is also annoying. Why not just create a separate powerball arena with a more involved map geared specifically towards it? Base names: I don't know the names of any of the bases yet. Maybe this is because I'm unobservant, but the names aren't as clear as they could be. It'd be cool if the labels for bases would pass through your line of sight whenever you entered them: this would shorten the learning curve for the "lingo" that the map will develop (and has developed). Alright, that's all I can think of for now. The bases are really sweet... and the many (sometimes awesomely subtle) allusions to older maps and bases makes it just more amazing. Really, the map making guild kicks ass. I am in awe. ------------------ -Spiral david@ryouga.org IP: Logged |

I actually didn't like the new map at first, but it has grown on me and I think it pretty good now. Although one thing that I do not like is all too often you see one team get aal the flags and drop 6 consecutive bricks to win the game easy. Bricks are WAY too common. And teams win because of bricks all the time. Thors seem to be useless now too, I haven't seen anyone get thored since this new map came.-Rev IP: Logged |

The bombline thing all depends on if you want a static unmoving flagging game or else a dynamic fast flagging game. Way back when... the Hoth that covered the entire bottom half of the map had the ultimate bomb line... it was the width of one ship and was surrounded by the base itself so you couldnt touch the bombers in any way... it tooks a long ass time to get in and was fun... but now I have a life When I drop into SWZ for a flagging game I dont want to be there suiciding for a half an hour trying to get into the freaking base... what other tactic besides that is there to get into a bombline protected base? Rocket and rep will eventually get you in but its boring as hell doing so... maybe shorten the bomblines. Eliminate unneeded spaces in and around the bomblines. Sure you can have your bomblines but shorten their effective length, and the total number of them in the map... it seems as if they are the rule now rather than the exception. Treat them like pepper. Sprinkle a little into each map to add flavor but dont go wild on the things and have a plate full of pepper there for your personal pleasure... ok bed time baby... wooduds IP: Logged |

i agree on the bombline part. some are simply TOO long (hence on the left side of the map, where the bombline goes through like 3/4 of the map) And i think the base: Naboo Palace sucks ass, and so does the staff lounge. it isnt used anyway, give us a base to flag in! hehe and IF we gonna put in pball goals, why not make em a bit more.. accessible. i havent got a clear opinion about the pball though. i will have to think about it~ whizzy IP: Logged |

i have also made a base in place of the naboo place just in the cosideration that the "players map" would be what the name states when the map has a good change to it, it could be changed. i have no one to send my map to or no one who will give a damn to look at. i say the swz leaders make a sub area (with infinate) amount of sub arenas off of that (like the league arena...u can go in swzfl100 and it will still have the same map) for a place to upload the "players updates to the map" and then have the right people view them and choose from that. either that or make a new section or link on the website for the swz MMG and then we can all upload a pic of our maps there. then the players can choose on what they think would be most suitable for them to play in. Im no map maker (I have better things to do with my time ) but sweet idea. Of course they are never gonna give everyone the ftp username and password for the SWZ website, or setup something to allow people to upload pics to the web-site. So, why not just put em up on your own webpage and then create a post on dis' here forum board and add a link? In my h. opinion at least one new base is needed on the map, so lets see those bases. well i can make maps but i am not to good at websites...i can make one but it wouldn't be good.an added feature i was thinking bout is that...yea i understand that they couldn't give out the website ftps and other things. but they could have an email that we could just email our maps to. i brought this up before and no one responded, now lets just hope for the right person to read this and then it could be a work in the makings. why dont we try the swzfl map in main area? that s a very good map and it s never been used in swz (i think)and i agree about the bomblines, i even tried flagging in a bomber with this new map cuz there are bomblines everywhere (i sucked badly though ). and i dont think we need bomblines to reduce wallbombers, cuz bombliners require even less skill IP: Logged |

Thanks for all the replies. Here is what I have to say:-Powerball must stay. Its good to play when there arent much people in zone and the confusion when chasing a red which turns out to be a baller kicks ass as well :P -Bomblines: good or bad? This has been a question from the start. In my opinion some lines are just too hard. If you go full defence on some bases they are like unattackable IF there werent bricks. I think bricks arent used enough for attacks. IF people WOULD IN FACT use em more carefull and really green for em bomblines wouldnt be such a large problem (especially freq 0 bomblines because they dont have those irritating bombs bouncing back from behind you) -Overall: w00t w00t w00t. Kicks ass! IP: Logged |

good idea its ez than to have a look at those maps. and other players can see what u can do. but i think that voting is not a good idea, coz some ppl will just vote for the base of a player he likes or a base that just looks nice but nothing more. U can do voting but not to get the base in swz. but to see what the players like. Cya Senti IP: Logged |

I only read like the first three posts in this thread, but I like the mod/player lounge a lot. It feels a little like the old SWZ map that was up for over a year, plus its a good space filler and place to have fun. IP: Logged |

Yeah, i say leave the staff lounge where it is. It's a great place to take l33t squad pics, or pics of the winners of priv games and stuff. Sorta like a victory lounge. Plus like Chip said, it feels like the old swz map.IP: Logged |
