Well, I'm not new to SS, although my newbish questions aren't helping me back this up heh. I'm an old SS Beta Tester, and former avid player. Before i switched over to EverQuest, I used to play in SWZ very frequently under the name "Phoenix." (or Phoenix 90210.. can't remember hehe). I was a pretty decent pilot, but I'll admit that I was a really bad vulch, who took oppurtunity as it came.I've come back to SWZ, and I'm glad to see some of the old faces from when I left (Crawdaddy, Mom, Tailchaser to name a few) and even though you probably don't remember or care about me, I do know the history you guys have. Some of my fondest gaming memories are almost exclusivly from this zone, dueling Craftwise for over an hour was one of my finer moments, even though he ended up kicking my ass pretty badly as my endurance failed on me (final score was about 5-3 in fighters, but much worse in bombers.. not sure I even got 1 kill on him hehe). Others include 6 million jackpots in flagging games, and some of the events I used to fly in with Alpha Squad. I've been gone well over a year now, as EQ essentially took over my life. I'm beginning to appreciate the simple tactics that SS has to offer over game where its a lot of mathmatics to suppliment over tactics, like in most MMORPGs. I'm a funny, and likeable guy... but I'll admit, I'm a hot head, and can get a good case of foot-in-mouth syndrome almost at will. If you don't take me too seriously, you'll probably like me... if you do, it'll be a pleasure to vulch! But anyway.. I figured I'd get this first newbie post out of the way... take your potshots while you can. ------------------ "Are not all words made for the heavy? Do not all words lie to the light ones? Did I mention EQ is the worst game ever made and a perfect example for all MMORPG makers of what not to do?IP: Logged |

Yea, I used to run a site, but it wasn't a big one. can't even remember the name, but I knew I had a cool lookin squad site when I was playin here "back in the day." Been so long, that was back in my days of playing on a laptop with 56k hehe.PS: EQ has its appeal, and if you think that they are the model of what not to do.. let me introduce you to the Anarchy Online beta... Download Demo here!! (*coughitsonly560mbscough*) Hours later... Your connection with a_pos_european_server has timed out! I went threw 3 days of that before I even realized that the damn game is coming out in stores a week from now... AO is gunna be the new model of massively multiplayer games gone horribly wrong.. and IMO - Origin can go straight to hell (dont pass go dont collect 200 dollars) for that abomination of a game they call Ultima Online. Of all the games I beta tested (and thats a lot) the only one I haven't quit with minor/major disgust is SubSpace.. and hell, the company that ran this game collapsed over a year ago... hehe. Already did. AO is horrible, especially the way they have the goddamn camera set up. UO went to hell a long time ago, when the carebears took over.IP: Logged |

The best mmorpg of all time was (the original, not to be confused with the new one using a terrible name-recognition ploy to attract idiots who still play Baldur's Gate) Neverwinter Nights. That game is the one and only reason anyone could ever explain themselves for using AOL voluntarily. Too bad they shut it down cause it didn't make them money. Oh, DCR, things on your list of "not-to-do's" include:
Making millions of dollars per month, creating a game that is impossible to beat so people don't quit paying you until years after they buy the game in the first place, and opening the door for a star wars online rpg??? What's on your "to-do" list, there, chief? I'm not saying EQ was the best game ever or anything; I'm just saying that you could do a whole lot worse with an online game (e.g. Asheron's Call). Thnx Microsoft. Go back to monopolizing the OS scene.
