Well...no one got all the questions correct.

1. What number divided into 311, 368, 444 and 672 will always leave the same remainder?

ANSWER: 19

2. Figure out this elementary analogy:
Nickel is to 28 as Copper is to __?

ANSWER: 29. The elements nickel and copper have the atomic numbers 28 and 29, respectively.

3. The numbered column is a list of professions, match them with the lettered list of thier proper definitions.

ANSWER: Continental (although, I have done some more research and I don't agree with this answer... Monsoon is prolly a better choice as it is really a subtropical, so if you answered Monsoon on your email I will accept that. There technically is no Continental climate, but there is a Humid Continental if you want to split hairs)

1) why is 0 wrong?

Divide anything by 0 = impossible (always the same answer )
divide 0 by anything = 0

0 is not a remainder. A remainder is something left over.

You could have said 1, though. Divide any whole number by one and the remainder is 0. =)


But then you get into 'is a lack of remainder truly a remainder' debate that has plagued philosophers and mathematicians for centuries.

Booyah! That means I got all 5 correct. On my questionaire I answered all correct but had monsoon for #4, and since your now accepting that, does that mean I get a patch?

Uh.....anything divided by 0 is infinity bro not impossible.

In fact yes slim, the result of any number divided by zero is not yet determined.

12 / 3 = 4 is true because
12 = 3 x 4


but

12 / 0 = Y Y being in ]infinity, infinity[ isnt true because

12 != 0 x Y any number multiplicated by zero = zero


Now what you were probably referring to when saying a number divided by 0 = infinity is

limit 12 / a = infinity
a->0
