Posted by Tailchaser on Sunday, December 31, 2000

I would like to take this time and talk about the bots for our zone.
SWZ Shipchecking Bot
Encountering login problems..?
Posted by Tailchaser on Friday, December 29, 2000

Due to an unfortunate server problem that we are currently encountering with our SubGame, some of you may be having problems logging into either SSCX Extreme Games or SSCX Star Warzone. Please be aware that we are currently working to resolve this problem, but until then we ask that you give us your patience.
Thank you.
You've come a long way, girl

Well well , if you havent read the news.txt lately, it seems as if everyones favorite mod and friendly neighborhood swzl op HeartBreakKid, has been recently promoted to Smod. Its kinda like that scene in "its a wonderful life" when the depressed guy gets his family back and the angel gets his wings, only we dont get to watch it over and over again each year and its really not that much of a tear jerker... and HeartBreakKid isnt some stupid old man named Clarence who is an agent of God who will enrich and better our lives and keep us all from comitting suicide before we realize how good we have it and help us to see the beauty in all things... or is he?? -gasp!- (you make the call!)
In related news, somewhere, a small child smiles warmly into the sunset as he realizes the world is now a better place...
(Congrats, Kid, you deserve it =)
Congrads to winners
Posted by Heart Break Kid on Thursday, December 28, 2000

Well, it looks like the 5 million jackpot game was raised to a whopping 10 million jackpot game by our truly loved sysop, Tailchaser. Was a very intense, laggy game. The game ended up going on for over 2 hours. SWZ had 70+ people in the zone. All we can say is, congradulations to the winners. Those 10 million jackpot winners are as follows:
Abadx
Apparition
Arcadian
Garath
jigga_3
Mastermatt
syx *
Trashcan Man
Trint
Xiao
Be sure to join us again, January 11, 2001, at 6pm EST for another whopping 10 million jackpot game. On a side note, if ya didn't happen to win this week's jackpot game, you might wanna try flagging in swz alot to improve your flagging skills and be sure to tell your friends and squaddies to come on over to Star Warzone for some real, high-impact, star-wars based flagging.
Default Subspace Download Zone Lists
Posted by Tailchaser on Thursday, December 28, 2000

Ever wonder why DSB and EG are soooo busy? Well, the subspace download file contains a list of all the major zones. Well guess what? Only DSB and EG were working on the major download sites! This old zone list has been up SINCE the ZDTV spotlight on subspace, so where do you think all the new players go and stay playing, since more than likely they don't know how to get a new server list.
After a little more harassment, I have finally managed to get the major sites who offer subspace as a download, to update their very old favorite.lst file.
Subspace.net -- DONE
Merry Christmas!
Posted by syx on Monday, December 25, 2000

I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to everyone and I hope that you all get what you wished for. Santa will be bringing toys to all you good boys and girls tonight. If he doesn't come...well, you were naughty, tailchaser probably told santa about you. hehehe.
Well, have a Merry Christmas =)
Scorereset
Posted by Gold_Leader on Thursday, December 21, 2000

Scores were reset just the other day, so now we all have a nice clean shaven record. I humbly but not without dismay predict that G! scores the number 1 slot, followed closely by those such as Ummagumma, GL, MMD, etc..
In other news, League is getting off to a great start, make sure to drop by and check it out.
New site is up! W00T!
Posted by Tailchaser on Monday, December 18, 2000

Well finally our new site is up and done for the most part. There are still a few areas under development, but most of it is working.
Please note our new home and url: http://www.starwarzone.net
We will get out domain name www.StarWarzone.com pointing to the right location ASAP.
I would like to thank Evil Jedi for is l33t web page design, and Mackieman and Minbari Warship for hosting our new site on subspacehq.com. I would also wish to thank Heart Break Kid, Captain Harloch, and Mom. for their help with the content.
There is a new section I would like squads to check out, just click on squads link on the right hand side. I would like all squad leaders to send me an email with details about their squad, and I'll post it for them.
I hope you all enjoy, I will take your comments and suggestions.
Enjoy!
New Bot
Posted by Gold_Leader on Wednesday, December 13, 2000

It seems as if StarWarzone has a new bot, for those of you who didnt know. It does its best to keep the teams even, and it seems to do a good job at it too. This bot will "capture and convert" you to the opposite team upon death, if the teams havent been evened during its warning period. If you want to avoid being "captured", avoid dying... I think this will be a helpful turn of events especially during large flag games, where freq hoppers run rampant! Some players may argue this, calling it rather an evil diety of freq changing doom, but hey, youre the one who DIED BUDDY and all your points are mine MUAHHAHA!
Oh sorry, pointwhore spasm there. Speaking of points, looks like Ummagumma and G! are going to beat me after all. Well Im through trying to get that high score (sniff sniff) and Im going right now to my girlfriends house, for life's other pleasure.
Galactic Territory Battles and Bans
Posted by Gold_Leader on Tuesday, December 12, 2000

First off with the bans: Two cheaters were banned yesterday (hoorahh!) for which we can all feel just a little bit more secure in our travels throughout the galaxy. One of them was abusing zone policies and is on a few days "vacation" while another was an evil cheater of the most dubious sort who was network banned until hell freezes over, or at least until Dudley reaches puberty.
The other thing Id like to mention is a little scenario we held last night (or morning?) that I called "Galactic Territory Battle!". It started off as just a small fraying with flags in center, but soon turned into a huge slaughter fest! No bases were used, and the flags changed hands back and forth for a good thirty minutes! Finally the Battle for that particular part of the galaxy was declared indecisive, and the war fleets went their seperate ways, to fight again another day... (insert emotional theme music)
Hopefully we will run more scenarios like this one in the near future. Id like to incorporate more of the starwars theme into them , to add a bit of roleplaying (so you can feel like youre actually a rebel pilot or a sinister imperial). If youd like these and would like to see more done, or you have any ideas - let me know!
